A film that presents the topic of disability through the trip of a young girl and her family in a multicultural environment in a short window of time. It also examines the relationship to disability by family members, strangers in a different society, and one world leader.
After hearing about the Dalai Lama at the age of 9, Kereni became very curious about who he is and what he represents, and the broader societal issues that surround him. Kereni then expressed a desire to her parents to meet him. Kereni has quadriplegic cerebral palsy, which severely impairs her ability to control her muscles. To communicate, Kereni operates an eye gaze-controlled computer by blinking and uses it to talk with people around her. This film is about the journey that her family embarks on to fulfill her wishes and attempt to meet His Holiness the Dalai Lama, while navigating the complexities of travelling with a child with severe physical disabilities in India.
